Proxy User Accounts
The Proxy User Accounts feature allows users who have been granted authority to proxy in the system as another user. With the proxy functionality, authorized users can place orders on behalf of another user, perform system tasks as the user and access images, documents, order history and shared documents.
Note: Users who proxy for another user will NOT have access to the user's approval queue.
Grant Proxy Access
To utilize the proxy feature, authorization must be given to the user who will proxy for another user. This is done by first accessing the Users view in the dashboard and then clicking on the wand icon in the Actions column as seen below.
Once the Grant Proxy screen appears, input the name of the user or their organization node in the Search bar and then hit the enter key or click the search icon.
Select the appropriate users and/or organization nodes that will be granted proxy authority and then click the Finish button. In the screenshot below, the "Test" user was given authority to proxy for the "Sample User".
Enable Proxy for Another User
Once authority to proxy for another user is granted as detailed in the section above, the authorized user can proxy for another user. First access the Proxy for Another User screen by clicking the My Account and Proxy for Another User option from the ContentWelder home page.
When the proxy screen is shown, navigate to the search bar and input the UserID or Organization Node for the user that you will serve as a proxy for. Alternatively, you can hit the "enter" key in the search bar to load all of the users you are authorized to proxy for as shown in the screenshot below.
Note: Only users who were granted authority to proxy for the logged in user will be shown in the search results. Refer to the Grant Proxy Access section for configuration details.
Click on the user or organization node to select the user who you will be acting as a proxy for then click the Save button.
The user who is serving as a proxy for another user will see the name of that user in the profile area of the home page. The user can now perform tasks as a proxy for the user shown in the proxy view.
The section below details how you can cancel the proxy for another user.
Cancel Proxy for Another User
To cancel the proxy, first access the My Account and Proxy for Another User option from the ContentWelder home page. This must be done while you are still in the account of the person who you are serving as a proxy for.
Click the Cancel current proxy button and then Save to cancel the proxy.
Once the proxy has been canceled, the user who initiated the proxy will no longer have control of the other user's account.
